Major Gifts at Walsh College
Our goal is to establish and strengthen relationships which fulfill the philanthropic goals of Walsh alumni and friends while providing funding for major College initiatives. Major Gifts, unlike Annual Gifts, are gifts that are endowed or have lasting impact on the growth and continued success of Walsh College. Quite simply, major gifts help make major improvements to the school and to the lives of our students.
A major gift is a gift that is personalized with your specific interests in mind. We look forward to personally visiting with you to explain what constitutes a major gift, explain current funding initiatives and offer guidance on ways to fund a project of interest.
Once an initiative is selected, a detailed proposal will be created outlining the mutual agreement between Walsh College and the giver. That proposal will detail the impact the gift will make to the College.
After the gift has been established, you will receive personal, on-going interaction from the development team. We will share current information about the school, provide updates on the progress of the initiative you’ve funded, and extend periodic invitations to meet with Walsh students and faculty. Our goal is a dynamic partnership that is mutually beneficial for years to come.
2020 Driven Campaign
“2020 Driven” is Walsh College’s strategic plan to help individuals transform their lives through business education. It represents an important roadmap for managing the College’s future for the benefit of faculty, staff, and alumni, and especially for today’s students, helping them prepare for leadership positions and successful careers.
A reputation-driven plan:
- Walsh has been in our community nearly a century.
- We are known as one of the largest graduate degrees programs in Michigan.
- Walsh's tax and accounting programs are nationally recognized.
Three key areas of focus:
- Academic product
- Career management
- Learning environment
These three areas of focus represent an investment of more than $20 million in students, faculty, and building improvements, an investment that will return millions more to the community through the success of our region’s businesses, and the alumni that lead them. Paramount to the 2020 Driven vision is the fundraising campaign that will focus on students, programs and Walsh’s Troy campus.
Why Invest in Walsh College?
A broad base of support will be required to achieve our goals. Philanthropy will make a tremendous impact. Alumni, corporate neighbors, foundations and other friends will be asked to participate in this $20 million vision through a campaign targeted at $7 - $8 million. Many naming opportunities are available in the new and refreshed campus building.
The College is prudent and responsible. As a private, not-for-profit institution that receives no government funds beyond what its students receive in grants and loans, it is dependent almost entirely on student tuition.
Donations can be directed towards:
- Capital Improvements
- Student Success Tutoring Program
- Scholarship Support
